When it comes to employee engagement – we’re like a dog with a bone.

Delivered as part of a change management or leadership course, delegates are shown the ropes by some experts in the area – a dog obedience sports trainer and their shining stars Harry and Jasper.

While the dogs demonstrate the impact of praise and positive re-inforcement, participants are invited to contemplate their own past experiences with various management styles. With the dogs earning a rest, it is then the delegate’s turn to replicate what they’ve observed, each taking a turn as manager and employee and experiencing for themselves how they connect, engage, and motivate people, without dominating or coercive behaviour.

The value of an engaged employee and a good leader are clear for all to see.
